southern edge of Oakham, with lovely views over the Vale of Catmose
towards Rutland Water.
Oakham Railway Station is a 10 minute walk through the town
centre. The railway line has direct train services to Leicester &
Birmingham to the west and to Peterborough, Cambridge & Stansted
Airport to the east. Oakham also has a direct train service to London
St Pancras International.

Oakham has a large number of excellent boutique shops and good restaurants and there is also a market held in the town twice a week. Oakham has excellent sporting facilities and clubs, including a cricket and a tennis club (both within a few minutes’ walk from Spinney Hill) as well as a rugby and a football club – all of which have excellent junior sections.
Rutland Water is less than 2 miles from Oakham and offers a great
range of outdoor activities - including sailing, fishing, walking and
cycling. Rutland Water also has a nature reserve, which serves as a
breeding site for ospreys.
